Education of Vulnerable Sections in India: Emerging Trends and Issues

As assumed, education is not an injunction, but an operational and prevalent tool for  holistic development of an individual as well as for  social transformation, the present book discusses the need of education for the vulnerable sections of India, emerging trends and their issues .The book fundamentally traces on issues related to  the education of Women, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Children, Disabled, Poor migrants, and few tribes of India. Being vulnerable is one of the most important issues that must be addressed by all the sections of the society. Since vulnerability makes an individual low in their self-esteem, confidence and affects psychological well-being hence if the society, parents and teachers treat them with compassion, the vulnerable groups can become capable of uplifting themselves and of living a normal, healthy and peaceful life with dignity.

Vulnerability has manifold magnitudes that has a context where a person has a possibility for developing physical and psychological health problems because of inadequate  Social ,economic, psychological, family, cognitive or physical support system and hence this book intends to empower  the learners and the educators  to become confident and conversant to serve this concern and to enrich themselves  about the need of various programmes, policies and schemes launched by the government for educational development of different vulnerable groups. The book also highlights the constitutional provisions for the empowerment of vulnerable groups. Inclusive education is therefore a prerequisite for inclusive societies, and inclusive societies and non-discrimination are also the necessity to bring equality among the citizens of country.
